Canada does not limit the family sponsorship programs within your parents, grandparents, spouse and children only, as the Canadian immigeration policies are, in general, very compassionate. You can also support your other relatives through the other relatives sponsorship program, especially the ones that are really in need of your support.
For instance, you can sponsor an orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece, or grandchild, if they meet all of the following conditions –
  • They are related to you by blood or adoption
  • Both of their parents have deceased
  • They are under 18
  • They are not married
You may also sponsor distant relatives such as an aunt or cousin under certain conditions. Please contact VisaHive to know details. We will analyze your situation and assess your eligibility to sponsor a relative accordingly.
